EVENTS

I have been doing so much as Miss Mount Olympus! I felt the urge to update you since it has been awhile.
I have been meeting with several people in our community about the arts in our edcuation, lives and community. I am so grateful for what the arts have helped me do, who i have become and what I have been able to overcome with dance and the arts in my life. There are so many other people out there who feel the same way, And I didnt even realize it until now. The impact and effect that the arts has on children, schools, people, communities, and nations is intangible. I was able to go to capitol hill and see first hand what the Arts do for our youth. Through the Beverely sorenson foundation and Artworks for Kids children are able to express themselves and learn core cirriculum through the arts. The pictures they have hanging in the capitol bldg are all from the students who are apart of the ArtWorks for kids. It amazed me of what the kids were capable of drawing, painting and sketching. All of which were apllied through some sort of core cirriculum like social studies, Utahs history, math, and etc.... I am speechless of what the arts are doing for this community and how lucky we are to have it in our hands. I feel that Utah is a very artistic state with so much to offer and how lucky we are to have these organizations here to help bring it all together.
I am working with an elementary school and getting ready for their next assembly here in a few weeks. I am so excited for these kids to have this opportunity to perform for thier school, and family. It gives them a chance to be on stage and be in the lime light as they show off their talents and abilities of what they have learned. Along with that I am working on another Dance4Life concert in April for the Boys and Girls club. So stay tuned so you can come and watch. I thank all of those who are advocates of the arts and have been supporting all of these causes. Please continue to make a difference in the lives of those around you!
The studio I teach at did a benefit concert for Regence Caring Foundation. In which we provide fundraising for dental care for those who cannot afford it. We raised over 3,000 dollars as the girls pulled in sponsors and people to provide those funds. Its amazing to see how dancers can pull together and make a difference in the world of others. I am proud to be their teacher and thought they did a wonderful job up there on stage.
